The fuel injector atomises and injects precisely timed doses of pressurised fuel oil directly into the combustion chamber. The assembly comprises a nozzle holder body, needle valve, spring, and multi-hole nozzle tip — typically 8-12 holes of 0.3-0.4mm diameter in large 2-stroke engines — producing the spray pattern matched to the combustion chamber geometry. Opening pressure is set at 250-400 bar.

Atomises fuel oil into the optimal fine spray pattern for efficient combustion, controls injection timing and duration precisely with each engine cycle, maintains a fuel-tight seal against combustion back-pressure between injection events.
