Wartsila 46 Nozzle

Mega Marine supplies genuine and reconditioned nozzle for Wartsila 46 marine engines, along with complete engines and a comprehensive range of spare parts. Fast RFQ response and global delivery.

About this part

The fuel injection nozzle assembly comprises the nozzle body, needle valve, and nozzle tip with precisely-drilled spray holes. The needle valve lifts under injection pressure — typically 250-400 bar — to open the spray holes and deliver atomised fuel into the combustion chamber. Spray hole diameter, number, and angle are carefully matched to the engine combustion chamber geometry for efficient fuel-air mixing.

Function in the Engine

Atomises pressurised fuel oil into the precise spray pattern and penetration depth for optimal combustion, controls the spray cone angle and droplet size to maximise fuel-air mixing, maintains fuel-tight sealing between injection events to prevent dribbling.

About the Wartsila 46

460mm bore large medium-speed engine producing up to 19,700 kW in the 20-cylinder V-configuration. Used in cruise ships, large passenger ferries, and LNG carriers where high power and fuel flexibility are required.

Common Issues Requiring Replacement

Spray hole erosion from high-velocity fuel flow widening hole diameter and distorting spray pattern, needle seizure from fuel contamination or thermal distortion, dribbling from worn needle seat causing combustion deposits and increased smoke, blockage of spray holes from asphaltene or wax deposits in off-specification fuels.

Mega Marine supplies genuine OEM and quality reconditioned nozzle for Wartsila 46 engines, with full traceability and global shipping to any port worldwide. We respond to quote requests within 4–6 hours.
